Class Policies


  1. You may register for most classes until the day the class begins - exceptions would be classes where we have to prepare a kit for each participant.  Remember that there are minimum enrollment requirements as well as maximum student number limitations.  You may not want to wait until the last minute to reserve your place.
  2. Payment of the entire class fee is required upon registration.
  3. Refunds will be given if for some reason the class has to be cancelled or if notification is given by the student at least one week before the class is to begin.
  4. Classes will be cancelled one week prior to the start date if enrollment is not sufficient.
  5. Students will be given a 10% discount on all supplies purchased at The Fig leaf for classes requiring materials (kits excluded).  Discounts will be given after the class fee has been paid and will last only for the duration of the class.

Collage Quilts - These quilts are amazing to look at and fun to make. Stretch your creativity and maybe even bust some stash! Sign up today, seats will be limited.

5th Saturday Club is designed to be a private sale day for those who purchase a 5th Saturday tote bag - one person per bag, per year.

Join us for this two year journey as we make the Dear Jane quilt and study the Civil War. There are 225 blocks in the quilt. We will make approximately 10 blocks a month.

Fleur de Lis Join us the second Tuesday of the month for the 2019 Hoopsisters Embroidablock of the Month Fleur de Lis. Let your embroidery machine do the applique and quilting for you as you make this stunning quilt from Hoopsisters. Laura will guide you through fabric selection, machine embroidery techniques and final construction of the quilt top. If you love machine embroidery and are looking for a more substantial project, this is perfect for you! Instructor: Laura Shotwell Fee: $125.00

Learning your Brother Sewing Machine

Cost: $ FREE
This class focuses on a collage technique that uses strips or chunks of fabric to create a picture. Color and value, and how they help define your image will be discussed. Assistance in fabric selection will be provided during the first session.

Join us in 2019 for Kim Diehl's Simple Whatnots Club. Club will meet the third Tuesday of the month at 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. There is a larger quilt project as well as monthly small projects planned for the year. *One payment of $30 covers the whole year*

Come and join us the third Sunday of the month for a fun filled afternoon of machine embroidery!

Making a portrait quilt is a great way to dive into art quilting. Choose a photo of a person(s) or animal(s) to work from, and we will teach you how to; edit your photo, create a 'pattern', choose fabrics, use various applique techniques to create a portrait with fabric, and how to either enhance with thread, or quilt to finish. We will have ample time to work in class, receive one on one assistance, and hold group critiques.
